Rooted in Kansas City, connected globally — we uniquely integrate two organizational missions to nurture relationships, educate, and advocate in building understanding across all faiths and backgrounds.
As part of JCRB (Jewish Community Relations Bureau), we form lasting local relationships and advocate for justice on behalf of all minority groups.
As the local representative of AJC (American Jewish Committee), we share proven educational resources in combatting antisemitism in the form of discrimination and violence against the Jewish community.

The Jewish Community Relations Bureau was founded in 1944 — a time when American Jews watched in horror as their brothers and sisters in Europe faced the Holocaust with little outside help.
The founders of JCRB believed that the safety of Jewish people, at home and abroad, depended on building relationships: with neighbors, with leaders, with institutions, and with the broader community.
In 1951, AJC — the American Jewish Committee, the global Jewish advocacy organization — established its Kansas City chapter. For decades, both organizations worked in parallel, each contributing to the vitality and security of the Kansas City Jewish community.
In 1991, JCRB and the Kansas City AJC chapter merged to form JCRB|AJC — a hybrid model that combined local community relations expertise with the global reach of AJC. The merger created something neither organization could have achieved alone: a trusted local voice backed by international resources and relationships.
As AJC’s regional office for Kansas and Western Missouri, JCRB|AJC is part of a global network of Jewish advocacy organizations operating in more than 100 countries. We combine a deep knowledge of Kansas City with AJC’s unparalleled access to world leaders, governments, and international institutions.
