Social Justice

JCRB|AJC understands that the Jewish people are only safe in a pluralistic society that protects the wellbeing of all minorities. That's why, since even our earliest days, we've been committed to addressing discrimination not just against Jews, but against all minorities in Kansas City -- because no one should stand alone for justice.

We are driven by our Jewish values: tikkun olam (repairing the world), b'tselem elohim (understanding that we were all made in the image of G-d), and the biblical command to welcome the stranger. JCRB|AJC advocates to local and federal elected officials to further these values, as expressed in our policy positions.

JCRB|AJC also convenes the Jewish Social Justice Roundtable of Kansas City, bringing together Jewish agencies, congregations, and volunteer-led chapters on a quarterly basis to share our respective efforts related to domestic social justice. This enables our community to coordinate and collaborate more effectively to amplify our collective impact on Kansas City.
